Musgo En Las Sienes "Rayo" Tape Apocalyptic folk is not a style of music we really know that much about, but we are always open to listen to good music. This tape from Argentina it’s just what we needed during the cold winter in Downtown Mexico City. Edited by Jit Jot Records and Asalto Discos last year the tape is composed of 6 hit songs that go from dark folk synthy songs to more rhythmic pop songs that were probably recorded in a damped squat covered with sigils and messages against the state of things. The deep moody vocals, post punk guitars and continuous epic drumming connects all this proto religious songs in a single well packaged tape that we highly recommend! All members of Musgo En Las Sienes have been involved in the underground music scene for the past 20 years from every corner of Argentina, so this seems more like a gathering of freaks making music and calling for the dismantle of political power than a professional band. We are enchanted! Listen to their songs here: https://musgo-en-las-sienes.bandcamp.com/album/rayo
Ley Rota “La liberacion” tape and Ley Rota “En el nombre de dios” tape One tape gifted by a good friend obsessed with hardcore punk music from Mexico and the other one searched by us for years in El Tianguis Cultural el Chopo. Ley Rota is Mexico’s best band and we all living here know they are the chosen ones. It’s weird, for such a famous local band from the 80s it has never been big outside of Mexico like many of their counterparts (Massacre 68, Herejia, Xenophobia, Etc.), but believe us, they are the best band in town and they need to be experienced live in 2025. Chaotic song structures, tempo changes, mid tempo moshing songs and the craziest vocalist that can make anyone pogo dance and fall on their knees. Lyrically they are above everyone else, street poetry at its best, few punk bands can transport you to their way of life and Ley Rota is one of those like Eskorbuto, Dos Minutos or Escroto de Rata! Just look at the art of these tapes… its fucking crazy! Jajaja!
